Children lead, ECE teachers follow
Projects start from something a child noticed. Our job is to notice that they noticed, then give it materials, room and time to grow into something bigger.
Our approach
Play is the work
We are a play-based centre with a Reggio-inspired approach, working within the BC Early Learning Framework. In practice that means we treat children as capable people with real ideas, we follow their questions instead of a fixed script, and we take play seriously as the way young children actually learn.
The room is the third teacher
Each classroom is arranged to invite specific kinds of thinking — light and shadow, loose parts, building, quiet corners — and rearranged as children's interests shift.
Outside, nearly every day
Children go outdoors in most weather. Gross motor play, carefully assessed risk, mud and fresh air are not extras — they are core to how young bodies and brains develop.
Feelings get taught, not managed
We name emotions, coach children through conflict, and help them repair afterwards. Self-regulation is a skill we teach on purpose, not a behaviour we punish.
Families are partners
You know your child best. We share the real story of the day — including the hard parts — and we want to hear what is happening at home.

Photos, quotes and project notes go up on the walls and into your daily updates, so you can see the thinking behind what looks, from outside, like play.

Where strong foundations begin
Play is how young children actually learn, but play without intention is just supervision. Every day here is planned against four strands of development, so that what looks from the doorway like a room full of children having fun is doing specific, deliberate work.

Hands-on investigation of how things work, building early problem-solving and the confidence to test an idea and be wrong.

Language, literacy & numbers
Guided learning that supports reading, writing and early maths while building vocabulary, comprehension and the ability to explain an idea.

Open-ended creative work that builds coordination, imagination and the confidence to make something nobody asked for.

Qualified, licensed, accountable
The people who look after your child
Our ECE teachers are licensed Early Childhood Educators who receive continuous, specialized training in our curriculum and methodology — helping your child build confidence, curiosity and the essential skills that carry into kindergarten and beyond.
Licensed ECE Teachers
Every teacher holds a valid Early Childhood Educator certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry.
Specialized certification by age group
Educators in the infant room hold additional Infant/Toddler Educator (ITE) certification.
Current first aid & child CPR
All staff hold current first aid and infant/child CPR certification, renewed on schedule.
Criminal record checks
Every adult on site has a current criminal record check, renewed as required by licensing.
Ongoing professional development
Educators complete continuing professional development every year, beyond what licensing requires.
Licensed and routinely inspected
Licensed and regularly inspected by Fraser Health. Licence details and inspection reports are available on request.
