How long is the waitlist?

It varies by program. Infant and toddler spaces move slowest, sometimes 8–12 months; group day care spaces open more often, usually in late summer. We will tell you honestly where you sit rather than keeping you hopeful. Applying costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Can we visit before applying?

Please do. We would rather you saw the rooms, met the educators and watched how a day actually runs before deciding. Tours happen mid-morning, around 9:30–10:30am, so you see a normal day rather than a performance for visitors.

Question 3

What do you need from us to enrol?

A completed registration package, your child's immunization record, proof of address, emergency contacts, and signed consent forms for photos, sunscreen and outings. We walk you through all of it — nothing is due on day one that we have not already explained.

Do you take children who aren't toilet trained?

Yes, in every room. Toilet learning happens on your child's timeline with our support, and it is never a condition of moving up a classroom.

What if my child has additional support needs?

Tell us early and we will be honest about what we can do well. We work alongside supported child development consultants and therapists, and we would rather plan properly than promise something we cannot deliver.

What are your hours?

6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Late pickup fees apply after closing — not to be punitive, but because our educators have their own families to get home to.

Do you provide meals?

Yes — breakfast, a hot lunch and two snacks, all included in tuition. Menus are posted weekly on the parent board and by email, and built around whole foods rather than convenience items.

How do you handle allergies and dietary needs?

Seriously and specifically. We are a nut-aware facility, allergy plans are posted in the kitchen and every room, and educators are trained on epinephrine auto-injectors. Religious and cultural dietary requirements are accommodated without fuss.

Does my child have to nap?

No child is forced to sleep. Children who no longer nap have a genuine quiet period with books and calm activities instead of lying awake on a mat.

How much time do children spend outside?

Typically two to three hours a day, split across morning and afternoon. We go out in light rain and cold — please send proper outdoor gear.

How will I know what my child did today?

You get a daily written update, photos, and a real conversation at pickup with the educator who was actually with your child. For infants that includes every sleep, bottle and diaper change.

When should I keep my child home?

With a fever over 38°C, vomiting or diarrhea in the last 24 hours, an unexplained rash, or any illness that means they cannot take part in normal activities including going outside. If a child becomes ill during the day we will call you to arrange pickup.

Who is allowed to pick up my child?

Only the people you have named in writing on your child's authorized pickup list. We ask for photo identification from anyone we do not recognise, every time, without exception — we would rather briefly annoy a grandparent than get this wrong.

Are you licensed and inspected?

Yes. We are licensed and routinely inspected by Fraser Health. Our licence number and most recent inspection report are available on request — just ask during a tour or call.

What are your staff qualifications?

Every ECE teacher holds a valid Early Childhood Education certificate, current first aid and infant/child CPR, and an up-to-date criminal record check. Several hold additional infant/toddler or special-needs credentials.

What happens in an emergency?

We hold regular fire and earthquake drills, keep 72 hours of emergency supplies on site, and have a designated off-site reunification point. Our full emergency plan is available to families on request.

Do I pay when my child is sick or on vacation?

Yes. Fees hold your child's space for the month regardless of attendance, which is what lets us pay our educators a stable wage year-round.

Can we change our days part-way through the year?

Where space allows, yes. Give us 30 days' notice and we will do our best — changes depend on availability in your child's room.

What notice do we give if we leave?

One month's written notice. We would also genuinely appreciate a conversation about why — whether it is a move, a schedule change, or something we could have done better.

Are you closed on statutory holidays?

Yes, plus a short winter closure between Christmas and New Year. A full closure calendar is provided when you enrol.
